Hi there,
I need your help to design pico hydro turbine which use water hammer effect to increase efficiency.

Okey, of course. What type (Impulse or reaction) and capacity (in kW) of Pico hydro turbine you wish to design ?

Thanks,
I want to combine hydro ram pump and turbine like these:
1. Connect the exit valve of a hydro ram pump to the nozzle of turbine. Assume we have Fall : Drive ratio as 1:5 that required to generate the water hammer effect.
2. Connect the delivery of the ram pump to another nozzle of turbine.
By that, we get extra power created by the hammer effect to increase the turbine power.
Hope you can catch what i meant.

How is it getting on?
Any progress?

I think you are going to design the pico hydro turbine for increase the efficiency of ram pump. In Nepal, we generally design the pico hydro turbine to generate the electricity connecting with generator.
To design the pico hydro turbine, the water discharge (liter per second) and water pressure (Water falls from the certain vertical head through the penstock pipe { in your case water pressure from the outlet of ram pump}) should be known. The size and type of the turbine depends up on this two data. If you provide me this data, I will help you to design the turbine.
If the pressure of the water in to turbine from nozzle is minimum, the efficiency of the turbine is low.

We can start with the smallest turbine that has double nozzles.
Like as
Use the ram pump drive pipe which has the same size with the turbine penstock.

Thanks to share your plan in brief. We can design that type of double jet small turbine for ram pump which creates the Water Hammer Effect and certain lifting head may be increased. We can design small turbine for testing as you think.

Thank you very much.
I’m so happy that you could understand what is in my mind.
How long it will take time, if you could just give estimate?
We at the http://SolarPanelTalk.com forum are curious to know.
Looking forwad to hear from you soon.

It takes near about two months to design and manufacture the pico turbine. We have not test this type of double jet turbine in Ram pump as you think till date. As you stated above, this is small testing unit…the performance result comes after the testing. Please share what kind of support do you want ( design only or manufacture & supply of small pico turbine) from us. I visited your site solarpowerindonesia.com. You have done more in Solar and wind power. We are focusing in Pico & Micro hydro power but not limited to this. Hoping to share knowledge and ideas… each other..

I don’t have any company yet, so I come to you just with my idea to produce more efficient turbines.
It’s fully upto you what kind of share we could have in future.

You haven’t any company yet? There may be coincident. There is TenagaSurya Center in a Nusa Dua, Bali , Indonesia. so, I am confused. What is your current location?
Okey, no problem, we have been manufacturing the pico hydro turbine to generate 3 kW power. We will discuss in your ideas in our technical team. I will share you if any progress on it. You may also mail me:

Thanks

You’re right, it’s coincident. Tenaga = power, Surya = sun.
I’ll keep on in touch by email.
We could let this conversation inspiring your visitors.
Hopefully we could come into a mutual join operation.
Thank you very much.
